Boat & Captain:
Hello and welcome aboard the Outrigger, now sit back and relax to a day of Outer Banks offshore fishing with Captain Aaron Wright and first mate on the Outrigger. I have spent my whole life living and working on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. I started fishing as soon as I could hold a fishing rod and have been hooked ever since. Having two parents and an uncle who love to fish contributed a great deal to my fishing profession today, I guess you could say it's in my blood. My real professional career started when I was about 16, when I got my first job as a mate. From there the next 10 years of working the boats got me to where I am today. I was lucky enough to find a job with Captain Marty Brill on the Sea Breeze. After a period of time I bought the boat and changed the name to the Outrigger. I've been fishing for over 25 years professionally and I'm still looking forward to the future and many more fun fishing trips, so come on down and enjoy a day with us aboard the Outrigger. Remember you can't catch them on land. The Outrigger was built in 1993 by Bob Sullivan in Point Harbor, North Carolina. She is a 51 foot custom Carolina Spotfisher powered by twin 500 hp engines. It was foggy most of the day and another boat that was well south of us found some more Mahi. The weather is going to be a little bit breezy over the next few days, we should get back out there on Saturday or Sunday. Thanks Capt Aaron
Spring tuna fishing OBX getting started
The spring tuna season is just getting started this week. Over the weekend a large push of cold water had the Gulfstream down below Hatteras making for a longer ride. The water has moved up to the 400 line on Saturday a little bit more normal for this time of year. The fishing was ok with some yellow fin, Mahi and black fin. Also a lot of action with the Albacor tuna. Most of the Blue fin have moved out there was one hooked on Saturday but not landed. Thnak you Capt. Aaron Wright

The blue fin tuna where a month late in geting here but they have lived up to reputation. I think they will hang out through March leaving in early April. The yellow fin have been out there but they are hit and miss right now. By April, May the spring run should be in full swing. Last May was good for Mahi and yellow fin. You can book a trip on Outrigger on line through the OIFC or call me direct. Thanks Capt. Aaron

I hope everyone can find a little hoiday joy this season and take some time to spend with family and friends. The past year has had it's up's and down's but over all it has been a good one. There wasn't any change in price for 2013 fishing season and we are taking bookings for the year. If you are tring to get a date and can't get up with me I'm proably in the ocean. You can always contact the fishing center. Thank you and God Bless you and your family Capt. Aaron
