Welcome to Doghouse Sportfishing

“DOGHOUSE” Sportfishing is a family owned and operated charter business located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. The “DOGHOUSE” is a U.S. Coast Guard inspected vessel that is certified to carry 12 passengers. We are happy to carry you, your family, and your business associates offshore fishing, or inshore fishing. The boat is extremely nice, incredibly seaworthy, and is run by a captain and mate that keep you, the customer, first. We are full time fishermen. We are not retired people that want a hobby of fishing, and we are not part time fishermen that have another job. We are full time fishermen, and your business is our number one priority. One trip, and you will know that we are your only stop for fishing on the Outer Banks.

Charters:

Full Day Offshore Charters

Full day offshore trips are the biggest part of our business. That is the reason we built the boat as big, safe, and stable as we could. These trips are generally about 10 to 12 hours long, and the species we target are: Tuna, Marlin, Dolphin (the fish), Wahoo, and King Mackeral. During the winter, we run full day trips for ocean Stripers, commonly called Rockfish.

1/2 Day Charters

This year we started running ½ day trips for some of our customers. This has become a very popular trip. The species caught on these trips are Bluefish, Spanish Mackeral, Flounder, and various small bottomfish. Cobia and Red Drum are caught during the spring and fall. This particular trip works for many of our customers because we don’t get out of sight of land and we aren’t gone a full day.

Evening Cruise

We also offer an evening cruise from 5:00pm - 7:30pm. Cruise price is $450

Fishing Report:

Bachelor Party Trip

Wed, September 1st 2010 - Offshore from Oregon Inlet

This big bachelor party had an awesome charter fishing trip on the Outer Banks. Our inspected boat, which can accommodate groups as large as 12, handles large groups in style. We jigged a bunch of amber jacks to get everyone warmed up, and then we set about trophy fishing. We had terrible luck holding on to our blue marlin bites. We had 5 fish on, and lost every one of them. We did catch 2 out of 3 white marlin. We had fun, guys.

Congratulations, Lee, Pete, Kyle, and David

Sun, August 8th 2010 - Offshore from Oregon Inlet

My mate, Lee, has been running the boat for me on Sundays this summer. My children are getting older, and it is nice to be able to go to church, and spend the rest of the day with them. FDavid Freeman had us chartered this past Sunday, and lee had a great day firsts. This big girl went down and died on them. Not wanting her to go to waste, they brought her in. She topped the digital scales at #763. What an exciting evening!

Offshore Action

Sun, July 25th 2010 - Offshore from Oregon Inlet

Jason Dixon, from Dixon Custom Painting, his friends, and crew, had a great day with us this past week. Fishing was slow, and we ended the day with some fun gulfstream action. We hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth. Shack
